jodilyn:

a reminder.
i’ve long listed one of my favorite quotes as one attributed to chicago architect daniel burnham: “make no little plans. they have no magic to stir men’s blood.” regardless of whether he said it or not, it has been a motto that has pushed me to make many decisions in my life. encouraging me to think and dream big and pursue the things that matter in life. sometimes i don’t always do that and it’s possible i haven’t done it for the last year of my life (ruts are hard!). so i thought a reminder was needed.
i wanted a tattoo when i was 18. i’m thankful that the first time i walked into a tattoo shop in toledo, the artist told me to think about my tattoo for a year before committing. not all artists are that nice. i didn’t ever get that tattoo i thought i wanted that day, but i never stopped thinking about getting something, somewhere. i’ve been thinking about the tattoo photographed above for the last three years and finally, my good friend kate said she would take me to a shop in L.A. when i visited. so, yesterday, 4 hours before i was set to be on a plane back here, i got these three little words tattooed on my left wrist.
a constant reminder to live life to its fullest. to embrace it. to love it. to plan big.
i love it.
